To continue the side track here, is this LE directly from BM? This thread is the 1st I have heard about it.

I was thinking about a 707-701 Sequel the other day. I like that one the best.

Have (4) LE's in mind, plus a forum knife.

Will post if anything is a go, after the show.

S90v Please......

I finally broke down and got a 707 this week. I have read countless posts and web articles of praise for this knife. I must say that not only did it come pre-scratched, I am not all that impressed. It feels odd in a number of ways. It seems too thin to have such sharp corners. The anodizing does not feel pleasant to the touch and that oh so thin strip of G10 seems purely aesthetic - and IMO not well done enough to be on the plus side of aesthetic. It is a nice size with a decent blade. I am going to give it a good work out for EDC in hopes of the feel improving but at first look I cannot rate it over a much less expensive mini grip.

Oh the other hand, I splurged to excess, probably paid too much, and got a NIB 707-701. Now that is a nice knife. Everything that feels wrong on the 707 feels just right on the 707-701. I suspect that a 707 with all G10 or CF scales, thicker and rounder edged than the 707 and perhaps a tiny bit thinner than the 707-701 just might be about as good as a sub 3" knife could be.

Send it to me if you don't like it...I'm sure I would. Wink

You know, my son held a 707 and fell in love with it. He'd be happy to take it off your hands.
