I really apreciate the value in the RSK series and I love my S30V model. If there is going to be a M4 version I would fit mine out with solid Titanium handles, and keep the Axis Lock. That would be my dream RSK.
Just a thought.

Folks thanks in advance for all the great comments and input but can we stick to topic and post up if you would be interested in purchasing any of these DREAM M4 ritter models.. It will help us (now that Doug) has posted up and chimed in if we could have a rough number of pieces that could be considered pre ordered etc.. I believe we are somewhere between 10-12 pieces Thanks..

It would be cool if Doug could approach BM and say hey look there is aprox 120 pieces that the forum members are Interested in purchasing.. keep this thread rolling..

Wow....

I've been away for a couple of weeks. I'd take a small and a large! Maybe 2 minis, in case I lose one, like I did with a mini M2 (only knife I've ever lost). I'm afraid to use the spare now! Love to see M4 happen.

Sorry I didn't say how many I would want before.
Assuming they are a numbered limited production run, I will take 10-20 large and 10 small. No kidding.

Great we hit 20 and less than 1 % of the forum members have chimed in.. See Doug.. This is why BM should consider this.. Once we get word they are getting close to production and shipping then the numbers would go through the roof. Thanks

OK, sorry for being late...
I would say the specs have to include the larger Doug Ritter blade, but in a premium steel (not that S30V is not terrific in itself, but in order to differentiate it from the production models). Unless Benchmade feel like experimenting with steels they do not currently work with, like S90V, to me the logical course of action would be M4. I think a satin finish would have terrific collector's value, but since this knife is supposed to epitomize the ultimate EDC, I think BK would be more practical. I have an open mind about serrations; ideally it would be good to have half the run with and the rest without.
Now, liners and scales: I am going to need some input here. If we go the solid titanium route, does that mean we can do without liners altogether? Aesthetically this would be the most elegant solution, but the monoblock concept would also add to the strength of the knife, IMHO. Otherwise we could have full stainless or titanium liners with CF or G10 scales. Regardless of the building technique employed, the look of the Ritter Grip needs to be preserved.
If such a knife ever becomes reality, I would commit to 2 (say one with serrations and one without), possibly 3 if a satin finish version were to be produced.
This is by no way a rigid blueprint, everybody who commits to buy one of those "Super Ritter Grips" should share his/her vision about the project.

Might be nice to know the price before we "pre-order". Just a thought.

Absolutely the price will be key!! But we can only assume that the price will be in line with any other custom/limited piece that BM has done in the past.. Not Gold class collection but certainly higher than the average blue and black class. I hope to see it in line with the 710-802 & 615-2 prices..
