I'm with Joe! Make the Rift with black handle scales! Sorry....had to put in my piece.

With the exception of my disliking the choice for the color scheme of the G-10, I like the Rift. I've handled the 950 many times and I feel that it has the potential to be established as one of the top Benchmade models produced. It fits in the hand well. The G-10 scales offer a good grip without sacrificing your pocket to carry it. The blade is a good size for most any job that would need to be done. Just make it in black G-10 scales and it will be perfect.... Wink

In response to your post maud'dib, has anyone ever seen the Kershaw G-10 Offset? When I look at that model from Kershaw and compare it to Benchmade's Rift, the Offset is almost like the reflection of the Rift in a funhouse mirror. The Rift is a way better knife in my opinion though.

Thanks for the info on the Rift everyone, I've still been going back and forth on it, but from what everyone has been saying about it's thinness compared to the Grips it's become much more appealing.

Dont' have a Grip, but I have finally found a suitable replacement for the 12 or so year old Stryker. Time to retire the ol' dog, and the Rift grows more on me each day.

Your Stryker can be a max of 10 years old (first year of production was 1998). Even saying that, getting a decade of use out of one knife is saying a lot!!!

And saying the RIFT is going to replace is a great compliment for the knife. Enjoy. Smiler

Thanks Mark. I honestly don't remember when I bought it, and haven't found any sources that showed when it was first produced.
But if the Rift is half the knife of the Stryker, I will still get more than my moneys worth!

yes, i went through a kershaw phase. i liked the designs and the feel in the hand but they didn't carry well to me. clips and clip placement were wonky and the blades were too thick.
