While I did like my 705, I actually like the 707 better. In general, I like wider blades though, so the 707 fits that criteria. However, like I said in a previous post, it's rare that I find a Benchmade that I don't like for one reason or another....

I also think the 705,s are a great knife ....
I wonder why they quit making them ??
I like the blade much better than the 707 by far ..... dj

I too like the 705's better. I know we have mentioned this last Spring, but I would like to see a knife that is half way between a 705 and a 710. To me that would be the ideal handle and blade size and would keep the blade profile I like best.

Let's see... if you want a blade length and handle length halfway between the 705 and 710, with the same basic blade shape (clip), it would seem to me that you have the 943. The only thing to improve it I can think of is to give it G10 or CF handle scales. My 941CFD2 (same blade as 943) is an incredibly versatile and useful knife.

I already like the 943 as is, but if they changed the scales to G-10 or CF(depending on the price), that would be another model to add to my Benchmade wishlist.....

Same here, a 943 in black G-10 would be an awesome combo!

Hi Grandpa Mike...My favorite 705 is one I bought from you with the Bubinga wood inserts. The knives I have bought from you are always in perfect condition.

Yes, the 943 is close in size to being an average between the 705 and 710, and is a great knife, but it seems to lack the average mass of the other two. I carry the 943 as a gentleman's folder... the 710 and 705 both seem one notch above in toughness. That's just my opinion, and I'm sure we will hear from some who work the heck out of their 943's...I actually had to shorten the blade on my 943 by 3/8" because it seemed like it was too long and flimsy. I always worried I was going to break that little 943 blade. Not any more....now it is lots tougher.

Fastjan, now I sort of wish I'd kept that LE 705 Roll Eyes

I think the 94x knives are tougher than they seem because of their light weight due to the partial liners (even lighter with carbon fiber scales). The blade thickness on the 940 & 943 are the same as on the 710.

Those two have been my EDC for last 5 years or so. 710 being my favorite Benchmade obviously Smiler BC coated M2 blade, Al handle slabs from TAC series.

I really like this one too:

Eventually I'll swap out D2 with M2 and then probably carry them interchangeably.
