Since it's discontinued I hadn't run across one before but saw one today, plain edge, NIB for $30 and almost picked it up. Should I have? TIA 10505, 9050 AFO, 615 Blackwood Rukus, 740 Dejavoo, 201 Activator, 640 PE. 741 Onslaught, BM42, BM51, BM790 Subrosa, 610 Blackwood Rukus, 550 HG, BM62

I don't like button lock knives. It's just a personal preference for me. The Snipe was a Red Box model made in Taiwan from AUS8 steel. It would probably serve you well for $30, but I doubt it would replace anything you're carrying in your pocket right now if your signature has anything to do with what you normally carry. *edit* Thought it was a Chinese knife. It would probably make a nice gift for the beginner.

First mention of this knife was in the 2006 catalog, made in Taiwan of AUS-8 (similar to 440C) and went for an MSRP of $60. A fairly large blade around 3.97", full liners and Thermoplastic handles make for a good buy at $30. Maybe even $25 if the seller will bargain... 350, 520, 525BK-1101, 530, 580-1102, 580 Proto, 583-1, 585-1, 710-1, 710-2, 710D2, 710HS, 722, 732, 740, 740 Proto, 741, 745, 746, 746-1201, 750, 790, 800, 800HS, 805-1101, 810, 812, 830, 831, 835HS, 840, 845, 890, 905, 907D2, 910, 910SCG, 912D2, 913D2, 12400 Proto, 12410, 14205, 14210, 40022-100. Thanks all. Might pick it up as a stocking stuffer for my son in-law. A new Benchmade is always a good thing. 10505, 9050 AFO, 615 Blackwood Rukus, 740 Dejavoo, 201 Activator, 640 PE. 741 Onslaught, BM42, BM51, BM790 Subrosa, 610 Blackwood Rukus, 550 HG, BM62

I have a Snipe that I honestly never used. It's a fairly large knife. The knobby scales are interesting, and the knife fills the hand and feels very similar to the Fecas fixed blades that were in the red class line. IIRC, there was an issue with lock failure with the Snipe, but my google-fu is weak so couldn't find anything to substantiate this. Anyone else remember anything about it? It's the only reason I never used mine. ------------------------------ If you can't change the world, change yourself.
