I hate to put something above the TSEK thread, but it's near the top, so here goes- Got a new gc Grip, that I plan for hvy use (I'll stop short of cutting metal tho w/ this one!)- I'm a lefty. So I play w/ it, and the more I do, the more I like that clip on the wrong side- gives my wrapped fingers a perfect perch that I know will increase stability/leverage. I know this thing has a substantial handle to begin w/ (for a folder), but it feels even more substantial now. I cut a lot of small branches in my utility work. I'm not concerned about weight- this thing is light anyway, and bringing the balance point a bit behind my index finger would (for me) be a plus. Looks- no concern there either. I read somebody once said he had 2 because he's ambidextrous, I'm not. Also not concerned about stuff catching it in my pocket, since I will carry it solo. Anybody do this? _________________________ yeah, I'd take an 805M4....

ryxlyx, I've never added a second clip, but I just wanted to mention that I know what you mean about a clip giving your fingers a perfect perch. When I take the clip off any of my Axis knives, I can no longer do an Axis flip. The clip is what my fingers grab during that. ********************** ********************** You are the Sum of Your Actions. Knife Rights Member

Yes!!! I've been telling people for years that liner lock knives with the clip on the right are better for lefties! If I hadn't given up the liner lock for the Axis, I would have sought out left-handed knives for my right-handed use...as long as the opening device, hole, stud, etc., were ambidextrous. 581BK-1102 Hybrid, 585-1BK Mini Barrage, 587SBK-1 Mini Warn, Bradley Alias I LE, 581, 525/Bone Collector, 941BLU, 520BK/Bone Collector, 760Ti Krein Regrind, 583SBK-1 Warn Tanto, HK14210, 707-701, 140HS, 551-101 Gold Grip, 941BC, 950BK M4, 220, 30, 42, 32, 53

Thanks guys- gonna give this thing a bump, then let it sink into oblivion. Wondering if the lack of looks is because people see the title, think some idiot bought a knife and is wondering where the second clip is, cuz there's screwholes on both sides! _________________________ yeah, I'd take an 805M4....

Not at all. The heading of your post was clear, not many use two clips, but you lefty's need all the help you can get since so many knives are designed for righties only. And agreed with FJ, a folder is much easier to open with clip attached. Only time I take the clip off is using the large Presidio/Bone Collector hybrid it's easier to carry it in a belt pouch. 350, 520, 525BK-1101, 530, 580-1102, 580 Proto, 583-1, 585-1, 710-1, 710-2, 710D2, 710HS, 722, 732, 740, 740 Proto, 741, 745, 746, 746-1201, 750, 790, 800, 800HS, 805-1101, 810, 812, 830, 831, 835HS, 840, 845, 890, 905, 907D2, 910, 910SCG, 912D2, 913D2, 12400 Proto, 12410, 14205, 14210, 40022-100. I use the clip as a point to rest the tips of my fingers. It’s a solid way of telling that they are not in the way of the blade when closing. When the clip is off I’m lost and am likely to cut the tips of my fingers off or just plain stab myself. That’s not normal…. I know.

I think most people use he clip for purchase without thinking about it. I know I do, but I have yet to remove a pocket clip from a single knife. -----=====-----=====-----=====----- KnifeRights Member

No, completely normal, I do the same. I have the clips on my knives set up for left hand carry but if I'm holding the knife in my right hand and closing it, I LOOK at what I'm doing as there is no clip for the tips of my fingers to rest on. Kinda learned this one the hard way. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Rick M ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Member-The Society for the Preservation of The AFCK ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
