Sent up a good old 700 Tsunami for adjustment, sharpening and cleaning. Just got it back after what appears to be a 5 day turnaround. Not only was it sharpened - that Tanto edge I wouldn't try myself - but bronze washers and all screws and the pivot bolt were replaced, so this thing is now like new! Once again thanks to Benchmade's service department for a superb job, an email was just sent thanking them. That's good to know. I just sent one of my own BM's in for the first time. It'll be nice to see what they do. Question on the turnaround... Did you get it back five days from when you first sent it out, or did they have it for five days before returning it?

I'm lousy with numbers, but I mailed it on the 10th and it was mailed back on the 17th. So a couple of days in transit each way. With travel time and all that's pretty speedy. 350, 520, 525BK-1101, 530, 580-1102, 580 Proto, 583-1, 585-1, 710-1, 710-2, 710D2, 710HS, 722, 732, 740, 740 Proto, 741, 745, 746, 746-1201, 750, 790, 800, 800HS, 805-1101, 810, 812, 830, 831, 835HS, 840, 845, 890, 905, 907D2, 910, 910SCG, 912D2, 913D2, 12400 Proto, 12410, 14205, 14210, 40022-100. So you mailed it on the 10th, and must've gotten it back on/about the 19th or 20th... So yeah... I guess 5ive days seems about right.

Yep, it's in front of me and today's the 19th. Turnaround's a lot faster than a year or two ago when it was three or more weeks...they did say it would be improved and that seems to be the case. 350, 520, 525BK-1101, 530, 580-1102, 580 Proto, 583-1, 585-1, 710-1, 710-2, 710D2, 710HS, 722, 732, 740, 740 Proto, 741, 745, 746, 746-1201, 750, 790, 800, 800HS, 805-1101, 810, 812, 830, 831, 835HS, 840, 845, 890, 905, 907D2, 910, 910SCG, 912D2, 913D2, 12400 Proto, 12410, 14205, 14210, 40022-100. Yep... you're lousy with numbers and I'm lousy with time. Since you already have your knife back, you couldn't have gotten it on the 20th... since that won't be until tomorrow...

I send knives back all the time. I think they must hate me by now. One thing that is new to me is the turn around time on my last 3 returns. The one I sent in for Lifesharp came back so quick I thought it was something else I sent them. The knives I sent in for warranty service were returned in less than 10 business days. Mixed results on the repairs but fast. One knife I sent them 912D2 I stripped 2 the screws on the scales and chipped the G-10 trying to center the blade. I sent it in and told them to get back to me with cost of repair (I did include shipping). It was not a warranty issue. It was MY “screw up” FYI, Joe Karp warned me 6 months ago to save my original box because they will not return your knife in it. I told Joe that they have been returning my original box every time. This went on for the following 6 months. The last 2 knives came back in the generic Benchmade box that Joe warned me of. I called to ask about it and was told that they were back to that policy. Which had always been stated on their web site. Keep your box if you’re a box-a-holic like me.This message has been edited. Last edited by: Dr Forthington Pringles,

I sent a knife in recently... Total turn-around time as 2 weeks, exactly... I shipped it out on a Tuesday, got it back 2 Tuesdays later.. not too shabby, since it went to Lifesharp and W&R. Its true, though.. Send them in something else if you cherish the boxes.. I wrapped mine up in bubble wrap, taped it real tight, and put it in one of those envelopes with bubbles on the inside, it worked fine. -Bill
