3 for me of the 8000 and 3 for me of the 8120. Push button or axis assist fine by me. Make it OD green T6 and definitely 4 way clip mount. The AFO is good, but this would be the stuff.

You know the handle profile on the 7500 is pretty close already.

Wouldn't work. They would have to make the blade even more narrow to incorporate the safety (i.e. auto Rift). AFCK blade is narrow enough as it is.

Or they could be like most other high end auto knife makers and put flush fitting buttons and no external safety... Protech and Microtech do it without problems...

I can also think of two ways off the top of my head to get a mechanical safety on the knife without increasing the width by use of a blocking pin that would slot into the firing button both closed and open to prevent actuation. It's not a particularly hard engineering challenge, Mr. Naysayer.

If were going to dream, lets dream big. D/A!
Keep the axis lock & make it a hidden bolster release double action. My all time favorites would be the MT LCC & Terz.

IMO we have a snowball's chance on this one.
But I would be a buyer if it were made.......
As would everyone else.

Unfortunatly that's a big problem with Benchmade. For some reason they're totally unwilling to keep around the products that sell and are popular with customers. The AFCK, the 42, the custom shop knives, the Blackwoods (yes I know those were discontinued for legal purposes but they could have been redesigned and reintroduced)... it just confounds me.

Benchmade could stand to make a LOT of money if they would just produce the AFCK and do an auto version.

Sometimes business decisions need to be made, as was in the case of the AFCK, which was popular but not enough to keep in the flow.

I do not think Benchmade would make enough money in this example to warrant the investment in an automatic with a limited audience.

The real money comes from the people that would actually use the knife, and often, like 710 and 520 models that stay in production year after year.

Anything else is a blip and temporary fancy.

I think the problem Joe is going out on a limb and just creating a product. Larger companies like BM I think are a little less likely to take a risk and produce a design like an auto AFCK because of the costs associated and the potential failure, but I think they forget, that's how all successful business' are started. I bet if they took the chance, produced the knife and marketed it with just a little gusto it'd be the most popular auto knife on the market. Make two sizes, a mini and full size, and it'll be increadibly popular.
