at one time i carried only a few and put away many limited and gold class in the safe. now i carry all my knives with only the exception of a couple for sentimental reasons as they are not nearly the most expensive.
i just decided it was more enjoyable for me to carry them all. it gives me the opportunity to show others and tell them about it, how its made, ect. its fun posting pics on forums but after that i get no satisfaction of them just sitting in a box. i wouldnt carry my damascus SNG if im going to be getting sweaty, it will rust. im not going to use my Lambert to hammer nails or cut senseless things for no reason at all. i have no issues using them for the purposes they were intended.

i do, but not often. the handles being nearly polished makes it show every scratch and makes me hesitant to use it alot. it took me over a year to find one and hence the name, one of my most cherished. my 9100SBK-501, now thats one i have yet to break in.
at Blade i got a chance to show it off to Allen. he seemed impressed with it, pointing out the jeweling and jimping. He also signed my certificate for it so its even more special for me.

I carry my 706 almost daily. I have a 705 but far prefer the 706. I also carry a William Henry Kestrel damascus which was about as much as the 706.

The jewel in the Axis lever came out of my 706 once and I sent it back to BM and they replaced it no questions. Top service.

I've got a few knives in the 3-400 dollar range and carry all of them regularly. However I did not actually spend that much to acquire any of them. I personally really like to buy my higher end knives pre owned for two reasons. First and most obviously you get them for a lot cheaper. However also many times they will already have a few wear marks which makes it a lot easier to use the knife upon recieving it. If I buy a knife and it is not NIB than I have absolutely no problem using it to the fullest. However unless I really like a knife and know from the beginning that I will not sell it, I do sometimes have a hard time putting the first scratch on a minty knife.

I gotta get a gold grip--I'll use the heck out of that thing. Car repairs, dental bills, and medical payments 1st tho.

Dentist? What's that? It doesn't sound necessary - surely knives are more important...

I use a Chris Reeve Umnumzaan almost daily. I use to have a Strider SnG, but I sold it to get the Umnumzaan. It cuts great, but I would never use it to pry something open.

SnG worked great, rugged and thick. I might get one of these again later. The "lego" handle was too blocky for me, but there is the concealed carry option.

To be honest the Umnumzaan doesn't really do anything that my old 950 Rift couldn't do. But the titanium handles feel great and the hollow grind slices better.

When I garden in rocky soil I use the Benchmade 140. I don't mind scratching that up. I wouldn't bang the $400 knives against so many rocks on purpose.

When you save up $400 I strongly recommend getting a Strider or Chris Reeve if your curious. Just give both companies a good look and pick the model you think you'll like the most.
