Some of the comments in the M390 vs. D2 thread started me thinking, and now I'm curious.

How many of you regularly carry and use a $400-ish knife...BKC Gold Class, CRK, whatever? And by use, I don't mean opening the mail and cleaning fingernails. Wink

i just have a few knives over 400$ ...
however all of mine have to be used ...
i would add that prices are not synonymous to edc preference: a classic 710 find its way to my pocket easier than a sebenza...

if i buy a used knife that was once worth 400.00 but i paid 200.00 i would use it but n.i.b. would be a tough nut to crack. when you can put a 710 960 950 707 in your pocket for 1/4 of the money and the are all great knives.

Regularly carry and use an $800 knife. I also carry the Gold Class Griptilian. If I ever decided to pay the price of admission for a more limited gold class, I would still carry it. I can't buy knives that I won't use.

I regularly carry a CRK Umnumzaan and the Gold Class Griptilian. I don't abuse em by prying out nails or scraping rust, but they do anything else I ask. If I have a particularly nasty job I'll usually grab an inexpensive knife like a Smith & Wesson or a Columbia River. Once in a while one of those will get ruined, but then I'm only out $30.

If I owned a Gold model BM I wouldn't use it, as an investment it's another thing altogether and very collectible.

The gold class grip is the most usable gold class ever - especially with a DLC M4 Ritter blade it it. I carry it and use it a ton - having DLC on the blade is a lot less worry than the normal coatings.

I also carry a 525-81 w/ ironwood scales to work many days. When I get some new scales done, I plan to add an Osbourne 670-701 to the mix as well.

Of course I don't use any knife very hard - just isn't that much to cut in my vicinity most days...
