I occasionally carry autos and have problems with the safeties. I will pull my auto and push the button only to find out that it won’t fire because the safety is on That makes fixed blades look much more reliable | |||

i just took my 5500 apart completely, and one crazy thing i noticed is where the omega spring clips into the liner, there is a little tiny rubber o ring between each omega spring and where it hooks into the liner. crazy, never saw that on any benchmade axis before keep your stick on the ice | |||

you can see the little washers in the rear of the axis bar cutout, between the liner and scale. i believe it holds the omega springs out of the liners just a bit so that the safety can be flush against the liners, wheras normally you can see the tip of the omega springs on the inside liners keep your stick on the ice | |||
