so ive recently picked up 2 nitrous knives, a 913SBKD2 and a 906SBKD2. after about a week of carrying i gave the 913 to my brother. i just didnt like the way it opened. not anything wrong with it per say, it just didnt feel "comfortable" in my hand. i would up pinching my finger one time opening it and that was the end.
so picked up the smaller 906. i liked the smaller blade and the assist felt nice and easy. then a couple days ago i droped it and it opened when it hit the ground. (someone else posted about this) when it did it poped up and cut my foot. (bran new blades are sharp as we all know!) then today as i was working around the yard the blade opened in my pocket and cut a hole in a new pair of shorts. my foot will heal but this really pisses me off.
back to carring my 9500 which i havent had a problem with after several years.

After cutting holes in 2 pairs of pants with a 913. Then having the lock fail, mixed with some verticle blade play. I have come to the conclusion that the nitrous system sucks, and i will never carry or use one again.

I now carry a 910D2 and a 9130.

I have a Nitrous Stryker 912SBKD2 that's my EDC. I've carried it probably four days per week for at least a year and it's never openned on me unintentionally. I wonder if it's something that can be adjusted. I'm suprised to hear about your experiences.

I too am surprised to hear that it opened in your pocket. I have a 913D2 and, to be honest, it takes quite a lot of thumb force to get it past the closed detent.

bad experience with my 913d2 too.
it had been twice to bm's warranty, because of a weak liner-lock which made a vertical blade play and an unsafe lock-up.
the first time the screw which stop the blade had simply been adjust: the problem came back again after a few time. the second time the liner seems to have been change.
the knife is now a lot better, even if i 'd still prefer a stronger liner. but i can use it now and that's great because i really like this knife (shape and mecanism)

Sorry to hear we're having issues with these models, they're great designs and SO much better than the Optimizer 670/672's in safety and function.

I haven't had problems with either my 913 or 907 but neither do they get heavy use. Like others have said, it requires some force to close the things.

But the fact that BM Nut reports a 913 opened in his pocket makes you wonder if there are flaws or weaknesses that cause the spring to engage at bad times!

Again, I hope someone at Benchmade reads what we're saying here.

Not a bad idea. Don't CRKT and Kershaw use something like the LAWKS on theirs? Maybe they know something we dont?

I was in school with my 913 and the thing opened in my pocket and I yelled. It scared the crap out of me. It put a hole in my pants, and I dont like the lock. Im very used my 940bk lock(axis) and when I open my 913 I always go for the imaginary axis lock. Roll Eyes

I might be selling my 913. I dont know yet.
