Not yet, but I can't wait to see the answers. I can't stand the weak springs in some of my autos (I won't name any names, but one of them is spelled the same as the Stryker APC). I've been wondering if the springs I see on knifekits and other sites would fit.

I have a couple of mine that I’d like to have a little more torque on opening but I haven’t had the nerve to take any of them apart yet. On replacing the spring I would be concerned about proper spring size and being able to reassemble them properly.

Because of the super high shipping cost (which I complained about while ordering) when I needed one spring I got some High and Maxx torque coil springs, but neglected to order any Mega's. I found the High to not have the snap of the original spring and the Maxx to be on par with the original. I would for sure get some Mega's next time along with the others and try them first. There not that hard to change.

You may have to trim the portion of the spring that sticks up and goes into the hole in the blade so it does not go all the way through the blade and cause it to bind when opened.

I put a mega torque spring in my 9000SBT. For the first week or so the knife was noticeably faster but then it started slowing down. Took the knife apart and the spring was warped.

I did not trim or fit the spring and it was a pretty tight fit. If I had taken the time to fit it the spring probably would have been fine. I think I still have the spring and can take some pics comparing it to the original if you want.

The plunger lock autos are actually pretty simple inside. I posted some pics here and if you scroll up I also posted assembly instructions.

Auto lover, isn't that hard. at the beginning I have the same fear. but I after changing 4 springs I can tell you it's kind of easy.... now I actually disassemble all my autos to clean them...

I don't think that it will happen with your springs. I've not heard of it happening to anybody else and I've only tried it the one time.

I'm pretty sure Skimo installed an extra power spring in his 3550 without any issues, but I think he had to trim the spring back a bit to get it to fit properly.

Yep, they're easy to change, this not being my home PC, you don't get any cool assembly pictures.
