Hello All! Can anyone tell me that if you take the safety out of an Alias 1 auto will it still function properly? Will it increase blade play? How hard is it to do? Yes I hate safeties!! They make an auto slower to deploy then a stud opener! Thanks David Hope you and yours are alive and well | ||

i am not familiar with the alias auto, but if it's anything like a benchmade auto they should just pop out once the knife is open. removing it should not affect blade play but it would introduce a hole in the top of the knife. probably voids the warranty, too. disassembling and reassembling can be tricky, but with patience you should do fine. i posted a step-by-step before so i will try to find that for you. here's a pic of a disassembled 2550 showing the safety in the top scale. please pardon the rust, the knife was lost in the garden for a few months.
