Not just due to the D/A opening, But i love my 3800. The action fires harder than any auto ive felt, But its a big blade and knife too.

Used as a manual knife it just glides open and closed.
The one thing you have to look out for when you hit the auto button while the knife is open there is a screw on the clip side that goes in rather deep where the blade sits when closed.
That screw is a stop so the spring bar dont come flying out and smacking you in the face when accidentally hit when the blade is open already..

Its just a scale screw so if its done more than a few times id check that screw and make sure it dont break off or get bent.
While trying to center mines blade i actually rubbed my blade against that screw, I wasn't pleased.

Id have to say the knife is my most favorite blade, And yet its going back to the mothership for fine tuning. I really feel such a big blade and knife firing so hard as an auto will take a toll on the pivots if they aren't strong enough.

But when the knife hits the market i highly suggest trying one.

I own metal things with handles and pivots made by people everywhere on Earth. And i like them all the same no matter who made it.

The 3800 has a hidden button under the handle material unlike the scale release in the video. The button presses the sear while the scale release uses a ramp sliding action to trip the rear, both use the leaf spring to propel the blade.

The 3800 works totally differently from the Lobo, but It's cool to illustrate the concept Smiler

I know it's different, but I wanted to illustrate the concept. I actually thought that's how the 3800 operated before I got one. I like hidden release autos so very much.
