I purchased a double edged satin blade infidel. Upon getting it home and checking it out further, it failed to retract and eject about 20% of the time.

So I cleaned it out with compressed air and used a light/very thin lubricating oil in it. After that, no more malfunctions...

Except that when the knife is on it's side or upside down, it fails to retract completely. I do not have this malfunction when the knife is in the upright position.

I'll send it in for repair.

I had mine for 1 year and never had single misfire or failed retract. I used it almost every day. Defective model?

I had trouble with mine at first, and to find out it was the lubricant that i was using. So i just washed it out a few times, and have had no troubles since..Like Auto_luver says..You will need the right kind of lube.It seems BM's OTF auto's are weak springs or to sensitive for most lubes..

I dont have a problem using any kind of oil on my infidels. I use regular old 3 in 1 oil and mine work perfect, even when I carry and use them. Ive had grit and lint in them and they still work. Smiler
