I am looking to get my first OTF. First off, I LOVE my 806SD2 and i really like the BM quality.

I am looking for a small OTF knife that i will occasionally EDC and also toss in the backpack when i go out as a backup. I like the red handle Tumult and the orange handle MT UTX85. I think these colors would be easy to find inside a backpack or a low light condition.

The vibe i get after reading about both knives is that the Tumult is a no frills do work knife, and the UTX85 is more delicate, refined but still stout, knife. on the flip side i have read that MT quality control has gone south, and they are not anywhere near what they were a few years ago.

both are very nice, if my "financial planner" (wife *cough**cough*) would let me i would just buy both... Smiler

Anyhow i am looking for recommendations for people that have EDC'ed either of these knives

Thanks everyone

If you are looking for something to throw in your backpack when hiking I would advise getting a small fixed blade... If you are set on getting a auto then I would take a look at the Benchmade AFO II..BTW welcome to the forums.
