So I scored a BM 6150sbk off the bay for a good price... I think
I am excited about trying out a BM auto, I have been looking for a 615, when this one popped up. For those of you who have carried one, do you like it more than a manual for EDC stuff? I like that I can close the blade with the same motion with the manual versions, does the spring make it a hassle to close? Thanks I will post up a few pics when it arrives. *********************** -Drew Make a life not a living... | 520 | 522 |800s | 812s | 812s CF | 806-901 | 806-901sbk | 806sbk-CF| 140HS | 710-801 | 610 | 615 | 6150 | 943

I either close my 5000 by holding the axis lock down and brush the back of the blade against my leg to close it then release the axis lock to hold the blade closed. Or just use both hands to close it.

It will just feel like an assisted knife to close. I thought auto's were prohibited on the bay.... hmm.
Good score though! Still in search of my first BM. In need of a used, but loved 42. I've never owned any BM, send me a PM. |

He had it listed as "Benchmade s30v knife" I thought it was a 615, till I saw the safety on the back. I am pretty sure they are against the rules, but I didn't notice till after bidding. *********************** -Drew Make a life not a living... | 520 | 522 |800s | 812s | 812s CF | 806-901 | 806-901sbk | 806sbk-CF| 140HS | 710-801 | 610 | 615 | 6150 | 943

Got the knife today. I must say this is one heavy duty knife, this is the work knife I have been looking for! I may try to swap out the blade for a PE uncoated but that will be down the road.
Will BM send you replacement parts for an auto if you are not LEO or military? I will post up some pics when I get some time to snap a few. *********************** -Drew Make a life not a living... | 520 | 522 |800s | 812s | 812s CF | 806-901 | 806-901sbk | 806sbk-CF| 140HS | 710-801 | 610 | 615 | 6150 | 943

On autos I have a 3550 and love it, with a 5500BK on the way in the mail, can't wait.
Otto parts-wise, I don't think you can do anything yourself being out of the LEO 'community.' While I've never had the need, I understend if you can find a dealer to mail the knife up to BM for repairs or replacements, and have them mail it back to them at the end, that's the way to go. Unless it's consumables like screws, pivot bolts, or clips, they don't usually mail other parts out. 350, 520, 525, 525BK-1101, 530, 530-901, 580-1102, 580 Proto, 583-1, 585-1, 635, 710-1, 710HS, 710D2, 722, 732, 740, 740 Proto, 741, 745, 746, 750, 760, 790, 800, 805-1101, 806BK-901, 812, 830, 831, 835HS, 840, 845, 905, 907D2, 910, 910SCG, 912D2, 913D2, 12400 Proto, 12410, 14205, 14210. My first BM Auto was actually my first overall BM. It's an original 3500. I got it about 15 years ago (the best I can remember), and I still have it. Since then I've gotten a companion 3500 and a couple 3550's. Love that spear point blade and thin profile. The 3500 is even thinner than the 3550.

Well, only one day of handling the knife, and I must say the ergo's are pretty amazing on this knife, it looks kinda chunky, but man it really disappears in your hand and feels like an sharp pointy extension of your hand too!
I am going to go drag it over the sharpmaker as this was a user with some wear on it. Joe- you are right bud, BM ain't sending no parts out to little ol' me *********************** -Drew Make a life not a living... | 520 | 522 |800s | 812s | 812s CF | 806-901 | 806-901sbk | 806sbk-CF| 140HS | 710-801 | 610 | 615 | 6150 | 943
