I'm headed someplace sandy in a matter of days and don't have time to send my AFO to Oregon and back. My BIL was f@#$ing around with my knife and took it apart "to see how it works" and pulled the sping for the safety out. I can put it together without the safety, but I don't want a razor with a push button that close to the boys, KWIM? How do I put the spring back in? TIA!!!!!

I have never taken one apart so I can't be much help but I am willing to bet that if you call Benchmade and explain the situation they will talk you through it on the phone.

Rigger, I don't have the knife answer either, but you PLEASE be careful out there. My prayers are with you to the day you stand relieved and come home safely to your family.

Regards,
Joe

Thanks, guys. I fired an e-mail off to Benchmade yesterday, but I'll call them Monday. Joe, thank you for your prayers. I'm Navy (non-SPECWAR/SPECOPS) so I'm not in as much danger as a lot of the folks over there, but that's not to say I'm not leaving without a few butterflies.

Called BM a little while ago, and the girl said I needed to send it to them overnight with $20 and they would fix it and overnight back for free. I thought about it for about 20 seconds, and then decided to apply the 10% rule...You know, you have to be 10% smarter than the object you're dealing with! The safety is a little stiff, but I got it! Time to go earn my paycheck. See you in about a year.

I find that it takes 2 people to easily place a coil spring back into an auto. I usually have the other person hold the blade in the cocked position while I set the spring. Don't worry, you can do it. Smiler
