Well worth it for the big Barrage. Alternately, you can get a Warn knife and swap blades if you don't like the "tanto".
For the mini-Barrage, the plastic scales are more dense, and the knife doesn't feel as plastic as the big one. If I hadn't located one of the g-10 LEs, I would have been satisfied with the standard Valox mini-Barrage.
I think if you do a search on custom scales, you will find two or three people who are doing scales. I think one is Rezarf?
