well I got my 913D2 back today via FedEx.

they replaced the blade on the knife and I have to say, it looks a hell of a lot cleaner (grind wise) than the first one. I just must have gotten a fluke. They didn't explain what may have caused the spots, but my hypothesis would be surface contaminates during the coating process.

Glad to have my knife back. :-D

ha! I just realized something:

my original, spotted blade has the patent numbers marked on it for the adjustable blade stop and the nitrous system. The new, spotless blade does not, it only reads "Pat Pend".

interesting

That's interesting. My 913 has the Pat. Pend. on the right side, but is also marked First Production 0860/1000...maybe yours is transitional between First and Regular since there's no numbers on it.

I'm sure someone knows why we have three variants of the same blade...?
