What's the major difference other than the price? The size is the same and the grip pattern is different. They're both black class as well.

Handle material. 5500 handles are aluminum, 5270 handles are Noryl GTX (just like Grips).

Depends on your preferences.
Another thing to consider is that the blade on 5270 is hollow ground, some consider it weaker then saber grind of 5500, specially the tip.
