Anyone have a link to Benchmade's info on this particular knife?

I'm having difficulty finding info online. Frowner

It's their limited production S30V mini Presidio Auto. I just picked one up, and wante to fin some more background info about this series. ( aka...how many actually made)

The 5500SBK-801 was a limited run of 200 blades with S30V steel, Congrats on your purchase and welcome the forums.

Ah, ok. Thanks!

I guess I have another question (or maybe 3, heh).

Was that limited run to just 1 specific year only, or 1 limited run per year?

Does Benchmade make a habit starting sequence numbers at different points?

Is 200 an approximate, or exact?

The reason I ask is that although I've seen this knife # 164 Limited Edition, mines numbered # 203. Also, the vendor I bought mine from has a # 205 in stock as well.

LE runs are made all at one time. ive had a couple of these and its a nice model. AFAIK it was a run of 300.

Ok, the all-at-once run was what I was expecting/hoping.

I honestly was eyeballing a different blue class Mini Presidio Axis-Assist 154CM model, but the small price gap to get this black LE S30V Axis-Auto was too hard to pass up at the time. (<$20)
