Howdy folks,

Although I always have an ever changing list of "like to have, nice to have, want to have," etc., the Presidio is on the list of "must haves."

For the Presidio owners: 5000 or 520? I have both Auto Axis and Axis locks in my collection, so I'm familiar with both. Just wondering which members here prefer when it comes to the Presidio and why.

Best,
heekma

I guess I'm wondering if it's like the Mini Rukus vs. the Mini Rukus Auto: the auto version is neat and all, but I wouldn't consider it the version to get over the manual.

Does the Auto Presidio open with the authority of the AFO II or more like the Auto Rukus?

Best,
heekma

Having played with both versions I like the 520 better. And on quickness, the 5000 and smaller 5500 are very fast to deliver. Pull back on the Axis bar and BAM. (IMO the A/O Axis models like the 580 and 585 are about as fast...)

The 5000 is my main EDC, it replaced a 520BK that i gave away.

The 5000 is easier to open left handed, cam easily be closed one handed, and has the lock making it almost impossible to close accidently.

biggest difference I find is when the manual version is broke in you can release the lock and pull the blade back in as easily as you flip it out. in an auto version due to spring tension you must manually retract the blade. I prefer the manual version myself, but i do like both.

The auto Axis is my least favorite type of auto. I would go with the 520.
