Are there G-10 scales available for a 580 Barrage? I'd like to swap out my Valox.

Not that I am aware of. There is the 583-1 which is the Warn branded barrage with g10 scales. You can swap those, but the scales are a different design. There was also a LE run of G10 barrages with model# 580-1102. There are a few guys that could probably make them for you , if you look around.

Thanks. I don't have a big issue with the Zytel, it feels just fine, but I was wondering.

The photo shows my long gone Valox 580, (top) and my Prototype with G-10 (bottom...) the G-10 scales really do make the knife special. I wish there was an option to buy these as replacements. Now that really looks so SWEET Mate, I love the G10 Scales and they really make a difference in my opinion. You can tell when you get a 587-1 with G10 and a standard 585 with the Hollow Honey Comb Valox Scales in your hands to compare. The little extra weight just makes the knife feels like REAL QUALITY in your hands and adds perceived value to it, I am just NOT a fan of the Valox and that is a shame because other than that the 585 is a Fantastic Knife (as is the 580)....!!! At least now there is an alternative option of the 581 for those looking as an a 580 ...

I think the 585 in Valox still feels pretty good. The handles are more solid than the 580 handles and don't feel as cheap. Anyway, my personal take on it is I'd be happy to carry a Valox 585 if I couldn't find a G-10 LE, but don't like the 580 Valox handles at all. If it weren't for the 581, I'd have to buy a Warn and swap handle scales with a 580. Well Po, I managed to get my hands on a 585-1 and it arrived today #19/250, but now the eternal dilemma it's a Shot Show Limited Edition and I really have a problem using it for EDC (especially with that lower number).... But man you can FEEL the difference with the Cheep Valox and the G10, you really can Mate...
