Just wondering if I'm the only one EDCing
a 615-2.
And if you are carring one what types of things are you doing with it.

Mine will arrive Tuesday. Assuming it feels as good as it looks, it will certainly get carried. The Torrent got pocket time for 'casual Friday' at the office and the tanto nitrous Stryker went with me grocery shopping today.

As for hard use, my knives typically see NONE. My Buck Alpha Hunter is the only one that's seen a few hunting seasons cuttin' animals.

To the original poster... How does yours carry? Do anything fun with it? Overly heavy? Is the pocket clip wimpy? Likes, dislikes?

Hi Gingerkid,
I find it rides in the pocket very well. I mostly wear dress slacks so the pockets are roomy.
I believe the clip is fairly tuff and not wimpy. I had carried a 14205 for several months so the 1 oz difference is not to noticable. Is it a heavy knife and a little thick so when I'm sitting in my car it presses into my leg cause of the console. not enough to make me want to take it out of my pocket everytime I get back in my car after having delivered a pizza.
Anything funny with it??? Like sitting on the toilet admiring the knife and end up shaving the top half of one of my thighs... Nah Roll Eyes
Not so much... I have cut through a few feet of carpet. I sell Flooring and sometimes need to take a piece back to the shop to compare to other carpet. I have sliced through several boxes of cardboard and rope. None of which has shown any scratches on the blade.
Word of caution Eeker
I had the blade partially open in my pocket twice. The first time I had walked around 10 minutes and a few flights of stairs to find this apartment to deliver a pizza. after collecting the money and heading back to the car I went to put the tip in my pocket and knicked my finger like a paper cut.
The other time it was in my pocket and I was in the car and decided to remove it... It was slightly open but did not catch any of the slacks or my body with the sharp side...
All that to Say "KEEP IT COCKED AND LOCKED"
in your pocket.
Likes
1 the scales great texture and color.

2 the snap sound the blade makes when it locks up like a vault when you open it.

3 THE LOCK I think it opens some how more fluidly when you have to disengage the lock while engaging the thumb stud at the same time.

Dislikes
1 That I didn't buy 2 of them. one for NIB and the one I'm EDCing. Frowner

2 ..........

3 ..........

I sat here for a while opening and closing the knife. Caught myself with an ear to ear grin
and decided that its perfect and could only be made better if it where offered as either a S30V or D2 blade and carbon fiber scales BK coated Laser etched "One of a Kind for FRED"
singed by Les De Asis himself.

Sweet! thanks for the write up!

That stinks that you've had it open up on you... hmmm. I noticed that the axis assist (mini-barrage I had/sold) seemed like it would be pretty easy to open accidentally. I only carried mine a few days, it never happened, but I guess that it just 'felt' like it could open up. It's certainly a very different action than the nitrous system.

Best of luck to you and don't hesitate to post some pics!

It certainly explains why BM is putting locks on the assisted axis stuff now..

The 615-2 is head and shoulders above the nitous strikers.

If you partially open a 913 it stays open, if you do the same with a 615-2 it closes. Im talking about the inch of movement before the assisted takes over of course.

Add to that the 615-2 is tip up compared to the tip down of the 912/913 and the 615-2 is more secure since the blade stays against your pocket. Assuming you are right handed that is.

I really wanted to like the 912/913. But after having them open in my pocket a few times, cutting my hand, and cutting big holes in the pockets of multiple pairs of jeans and shorts, i sold off all 5 of the 912/913's that i had. Never again.

The 615-2 is the $hit. I find myself wanting 10 of them.

"Benchmade Nut"... so you had nitrous knives open up on you? I feel really comfortable carrying them, although it's just been a few weeks with a Torrent and Stryker. The action seems like they would require pushing the thumb stud and not open up accidentally.

I was with a friend a few months back who had a new Kershaw Chive. That little puppy opened up and skewered his thumb pad. Dude was dropping blood everywhere. Those little knives are scary! I will say I love the Ken Onion designs though.
