I've got a couple of quick questions for anybody who lives in a state where it's legal to buy, own and carry an automatic knife. Are sales restricted to residents? So for instance, could an out-of-state visitor make a purchase? Thanks.

Of course.... You have to obey the laws of the state you're in not where your from..... Just like speed limit laws.... Make sense? "I see you have constructed a new lightsaber."

Yeah, it makes sense. Like buying fireworks 20 yards across the state line in a state where fireworks are legal. On the other hand, I'm old enough to have learned that the way things ARE and the way they OUGHT to be can be different. That's why I was curious. Anyway, thanks for the feedback.

you know, that's the best question I've ever heard about buying autos! I'm not sure if the "ban" on transporting automatic knives across state boarders applies to purchases for our collections. Like anyone else would probably say, put it in your trunk in it's box, don't break any laws on the road and there shouldn't be a problem transporting the knife across state lines. It is in fact illegal to buy it and then transport it across state lines, I live in AZ and to the best of my knowledge we have no restrictions, I got a speeding ticket a few days ago with an open J Frame S&W on my hip, and an Auto Stryker clipped nonchalantly to my belt and the cops didn't say anything other tha n"Nice knife, how do you like it, I'm thinking baout buying one." and "Does that J Frame shoot ok for you". I'm for any sport that burns powder...I just look down a different set of barrels than most folks. Elmer Keith

If I'm not mistaken, the Fed law applies to commerce, not transport by owner. So it would be illegal to ship it across a state line from seller to buyer. But for the owner to cross a state line with it I don't believe breaks Fed law. Trailboss, in what State do you reside? ...............................................................................................................
