How much will I be charged for repair? Or will they be kind enough to fix it?

I bought this knife in 2003 =/

I just read that you must be law enforcement or military to send it back.. maybe I should just buy a new one, and attempt to have someone repair my older one?? Or is it something that you can do yourself? There is not anything major externally that would cause the blade to stick. Maybe it is just dirty/needs a new spring???

Benchmade is based in Oregon for a reason. If you are in Oregon yourself, Benchmade will receive your knife through the mail, auto, balisong, or whatever they make. Double check it on the site, but I'm certain I read it.

They'll sort you out. Benchmade customer service is awesome Smiler

I believe if you drop it off at the factory it doesn't matter who you are. The problem comes from the shipping side of it. Drop off and pick up should be no problem, and no fees involved. It's under waranty. Good luck.

Good evening,

Yes it has a safety, it has the double lock. If i pull the round knob it no longer springs open. The lock on the bottom works fine. I imagine it is the spring.
