Not here in WY I personally wouldn't. If I arrested him for something else, then maybe....really depends on the circumstances. The way I see it, How would I know he was carrying concealed? The concealed weapons law here is rather vague when it comes to knives. The way it reads as long as you can prove it is a "deadly weapon" it could apply. Here in WY it only pertains to on a person and not in a vehicle like some states. I used to be an LE in NE and there a knife is considered concealed with a blade of 3 1/2" or more, most states use this definition. All in all if you follow the rule of never carry an automatic knife or a knife with a blade longer than 3 1/2" concealed you shouldn't ever have a problem unless you find some badge heavy cop that thinks otherwise. You really just need to know the laws of the state you live in and City Ordinances if you're in a municipality. Case Law is also very important. This message has been edited. Talking about this reminds me of when I was in Washington D.C. a few years back. Before the trip I bought my first and only thumb stud axis lock BM, a 530 Pardue. I like BM autos or thumb hole folders, but was worried about the one I would take becoming "lost" on the flight from Denver to Baltimore so I thought it would be better to take a more inexpensive knife on the trip. I was getting ready to walk in the Smithsonian Air & Space museum and I seen they had metal detectors and guards at the entrance with signs saying no weapons. I unclipped my knife off of my pocket and let it drop down into my pocket so it wasn't visible. I figured when I went through the metal detector I would show the guards my badge and ID and ask them if they would hold onto my knife until I was ready to leave. It was crazy, I walked in the door and the guards waved me around the metal detectors and let me in. I didn't have to explain myself or say a word to them, they just let me in. I have never figured out why they did that. I look pretty "coppish" with a flattop haircut I guess, but so did Tim McVeigh.

That’s where I live, NE. Several years ago before I knew the laws I called the NSP and asked what the legal length of a folding pocketknife was. The officer asked me what the blade length of my knife was and I told him it was 3-3/4inches. He said that would be ok and not to worry about it. I don’t know what to gather from that answer, did he not know the law (3-1/2in) or as part of his discretion did he think that it wasn’t anything to worry about. I’m sort of inclined to think the latter, he didn’t think that it was a big deal.

That would be my guess as well. I don't get to excited about folders, unless of course someone was using one trying to do harm to me. What part of NE do you live? I am a Sandhiller, born and raised in the North Central part of the state.
