I've got a 9500. They're okay to own, but illegal to carry in my state, so I haven't really put it to much use.

I'll say this though, of the "small" BM autos I own, the 9500 has the weakest action. The 3500s and 2550s all fire harder. It may well just be mine that's weak and not all of them. That being said, it's not a wet noodle, just the weakest of the ones I own. I really like the blade shape and do wish I could carry it around to get some real use out of it.

Just ran across one, NIB satin ps 154cm and thought it fired weak as well, like it though. If it was pe I'd get for sure.

I have a first production 9500 in ATS-34 Steel that I purchased in 2001. Great knife, the one I carry the most out of all my BM's.

What is under discussion, a 9500, a 9100 Stryker, or the mini 9150?

Benchmade side-openers are well made and utilitarian, but nothing overly special in that price point.
