What do you guys think about the new 3310? I liked the Benchmade auto I recently purchased someone as a present I started looking into getting one for myself. I loved the 3350 once I ironed out the kinks...but I wanted to go for the ultra-cool factor and thought I would go for an Infidel. Well...truth be told I wanted a balisong but I just don't like the looks of the BMs...not a fan at all of the jeweled handles of the one I liked. I went to look up the 3300 on BM's site last night and spotted the new single-edged 3310. I was just wondering if there was any benefit of the single versus the double egded blade. At first I thought it may be thicker but its specd the same. The only other possible advantage I see is that the 3310 can come with a combo edge. What are your thoughts.

I believe the double edge is made of D2 and the single edged is made of S30V. I like the look of the double edge better.

no reason the double edge cant have a combo edge, my de microtech is. i do like the single edge though because i feel the thick spline would add rigidity.

DE fan here and I see no reason why BM even offered this piece. What is the point of a single edge OTF knife anyway?? The MAP is still a high $450.00..

I prefer a single edge OTF....It's more usable in the real world.

Now a tanto would be sweet. I don't know what it is but the tanto blade is easily my favorite. I'm not familiar enough with the function of different blades...whether or not the tanto is better than the spear point etc...I'm a casual collector...but the tanto just looks good. My first highend knife was a Puma Tac with a tanto blade...maybe thats why I like them. I've seen some MOD tanto OTF blades that don't look so hot though.

I imagine the SE would be more rigid...but then again I don't know if I'd go using an OTF blade for anything other than like a dagger...if it all of course...in which case I guess the DE would be better.
