Good, that's what I wanted to hear. I have two T6, heck I have 6 or more bits of all sizes T5 to T10. I know I have small nut drivers and if not easy purchase. Now I can do this without removing the blade.....right?

Beginner questions can be so tedious.

Joe, I'll tell my Gnome you said Hi. He'll like that. Wink

I think Skimo has stock in the tool and die industry. Big Grin

Thanks.....Steve

Steve, best to do this with the blade open and locked.
(It's a good idea to put some tape on the sharp blade.)

The 710/Ares/Full sized Grip/Early Osbornes use a medium
sized thumbstud. The Mini-grip/minis/many current Osbornes
use a slightly smaller thumbstud. Depending on your hand size,
use the smallest studs you can get by with.

All of the above studs are interchangeable. The larger black
studs on the Strykers are excellent on the heavier larger
throw blades like the 710 and Ares.

OK, my first Benchmade alteration. I’m confident, ready and excited about the mission I have chosen. Smiler

This job that I am about to undertake could not have been accomplished without your help. It’s teamwork like this that took our great nation to put a man on the moon and safely return him to earth.

I shall report on my progress, be it anticipated success or failure if the case may be.

Thank you all and Godspeed.

Sorry, I have no camera. I would love to post a picture.

The operation was a complete success.
The Nitrus slides in and out of the pocket with no snags and I have no problem deploying the blade. I have done this on 3 of my Nitrus Strykers and they are all just fine. I swapped studs from my 522 Presidio Ultra on to a 913 Stryker. That was a real winner because the Ultra Axis IMO needed the larger studs due to it's large scales.

On the third model I had to send it into Benchmade because they will not send out parts. They used 930 studs. They are small studs. They put them on my 906 mini Stryker. Works great.

You just have to know the Nitrus system. You sweep the thumb out horizontally, not up.
Let the energy in the liner (spring) take over.
