Mini 581 who wants to see one come out (586..??)

Well I am just sitting here pondering the thought of getting a new EDC and have been considering a 707 Sequel, a 585 Plain and adding some things I have laying around to either of them or even a mini 615 Rukus.

But I keep looking at the 581SBK that I bought and how much I like it and would love to have the option of a Mini 581 for EDC, it would most likely have the BM Code 586 I suspect.

I was wondering how many others would think that it would be a good idea and would buy one..???

I love the 585 Barrage but I have a real "B in my Bonnet" about the Cheap and Nasty Honeycomb Valox Scales, it seems to me G10 is the best option for it but then that 581SBK with the combo Aluminum and G10 Scales are VERY Grippy and I like it...!!!

Whats your thoughts...???

I like it! I would like scales similar to the 690, however, CF bolsters with winewood or cocobolo scales with the M390 steel.

Arrr a man after my own heart, I love the 585's and I had some left over Warm G10 Scales that I put on them...Smiler

I just sent in a 581SBK to get the blade changed to a plain M390 Blade, man I love those combo aluminum and G10 scales...

G'Day Carson,

I hear you Mate, personally I love the Warn Style G10 Scales even over the Limited Edition G10 that are around and the 587-1 Warn is a beautiful knife indeed...Smiler

But it is a Tanto and there are many of us that although we don't hate a Tanto, we need a more conventional shaped blade just as a man's pocket knife if you know what I mean Mate...

I do love the RED back spacer on the Warn, a good alternate name for it would have been the "Black Widow"(or RED Back as we call them in Australia)..)

I am lucky that I have two of the Warn's Scales left over from a project that I was involved in and have them on 2 standard 585's that I have and man they are great..Smiler

I want one just for the red backspacer if I'm being honest. I don't really need one, but I've been tempted Smiler

Aussie, I would want a 586 and a 586bk . Aluminum bolsters and black G10 or maybe even blue /black g10 like on the 806-1101. I think they would be very popular.

I think so too Mate,

I have a 581SBK that has just done in for a Blade change and I just loved the gripy feel to the combination scales, a smaller one for every day in the old pocket would be great...Smiler

Well hopefully BKC is thinking this too. Make a mini 581 keep it sleek and simple like the 581 same blade steel. Also open a custom shop for those that want Carbon fiber bolsters and winewood scales . cause it isn't happening with regular production mini 586. At least I would hope not. It would cost a mini fortune.
