Just thought I put up a post on the new 583. I just picked one up at a gun show and WOW! Other than it saying warn, i am very pleased. blows the 580's out of the water. i will post some pics soon.

Why is it so much better? Well, besides the G10 scales and the cool looking red? And the tanto? And the...Oh nevermind. Roll Eyes

My first 580 had some issues. After seeing the 583 close up and handling it, i had to get it. yeah its tanto but in my field it works better. Besides the back spacer and g-10, the action was better and the blade just sits nice in those scales!

I had to look it up on BM site ..........it looks good actually.
To each his own on the Tanto stuff , they do have there purpose.
