Hi all,
I recently bought a Mini barrage on a spur of the moment, literally after seeing the ad on Benchmade's site for the axis assist lock. Benchmade was sold out and my impulsivity took hold and off I went to fleabay.

Well, lesson learned as the knife was listed as brand new in box, got confirmation on this, only to get the knife and open it up and see there was lint/thumb prints etc on the knife. Was obviously not new. Then along the spine of the blade, I noticed "Dizzle" etched into the blade.... Of all things, I'd rather not have "Dizzle" engraved on my new knife.

Of course I asked the seller, who said he had no idea, then I saw the screen name and put it all together.

Question is now, that I have it, he's playing games, asking me if I'd take a discount on it, and if so, what would I think would be a fair discount...

1/2 of me wants that foolish branding off the blade, the other half says, keep it and sand it off but on a brand new knife, I think not.

Just looking for suggestions, or if the laser marking can be removed, I have a myriad of tools, along with dremel, bench grinder, not sure it it's worth the time or hassle.

Thanks for listening. Wish they'd make the 710 in spring assist!

Anybody see that 'Aqua Teen Hunger Force' with The Drizzle?

That sounds really frustrating. I've only bought second hand Benchmades through the For Sale forum and so far I have only had good experiences here.

I would take the discount keep it and just rub the spine of the blade across sandpaper on a flat surface it should come right out.

Well now that's my question, he's asking me what "I" think is fair. Besides not being up front about the mark, most likely hoping I would not notice it.

Up front would be to either disclose the mark, or, now at this stage in the game, just say "I'll refund you xyz in cash" how's that sound. Rather than this game.

So what do you think, 10.00 off or so or more?

I would say $15-20 considering it was suppose to be new.

To buy a new blade from BM it will cost between 25-35 dollars, plus postage, plus your time.

I would go 35 dollars.

Surely that is not a NIB knife, and yet another wonderful eBay experience...sorry about a deal for less than you bargained for.

If you choose to sand the "Dizzle" thing off instead of buying a replacement blade, I would recommend removing it so you don't damage the rest of the knife.
