We all know that the coil spring in an auto will eventually break and when that happens you have to send it to benchmade to get it replaced...but how do they actually do it? How do they put the new spring in? Do any of you guys do it on your own? If so can you guys post some pictures or something? Smiler

if you could get your hands on the spring it would be rather easy, getting the right spring in your own hands is unlikely since BM won't sell parts Frowner

710D2 -
i posted this about a month ago. i also posted a pic of a disassembled 2550 in the next post in that thread.

you can buy aftermarket springs, but i don't like them as much as the factory springs.

in one of benchmade's promotional videos from last year they show a quick clip of assembling the afo auto. Cool

Great shots Skimo, I've never seen the 3550 in take-down mode. Thanks!

it's my second time doing it, my first one was ats-34 labled this one is newer and labeled 154-cm Frowner

it's a really simple knife, it's a feat to see simple engineering, I know if I were to design a knife it would probably look like a birds nest on the inside.

Mr. Pardue sure has a way with knives. Smiler
