un-centered blade?

I just got a new nitrous mini-stryker and absolutely love it. Ther is a small problem that's been bothering me. I've gone through quite a few trades and sales of knives over the last few years, and have gotten used to inspecting them from all angles to properly describe them. The knife functions perfectly, but when closed the blade is not centered. It's not rubbing on the liner (yet), but it's pretty far to one side and more than enough to drive me crazy. I expect more from one of benchmades products. I have emailed benchmade about it, Id be happy to fix the problem myself, but haven't gotten a reply from them. Can anyone help me out?

hey stoneman, try calling them, much faster response time Smiler

the pivot screw is pretty easy to work with also.

side note if the side has those tiny little screws holding the frame of the knife to the grip, those loosening can have the same effect.

Try clamping the blade in a vise, then use a pair of channel locks to bend the blade till it's centered... Big Grin

skimo is right. Try and loosen all the screws, even the clip screws and push on the blade to the same side that it is close to the liners on. And then retighten. If that dosen't work send it in. BM will make it right.

If loosening the screws and adjusting the pivot does not work then call BM and they will be happy to fix it up for you and get it back quickly..

Take the clip all the way off and go from there. Loosen all the screws and see if it will center. Then tighten the screws down in rotation. Then try putting the clip back on. If it was straighter with the clip off, then you might have a problem you can't fix. If that doesn't work, then live with it or send it back in. They may fix it or send you another one. Who knows, maybe another one will be worse.

highly unlikely that a new one would be worse, seems pretty much everyone is on the same page, not sure what thier turn around time is like right now, but sending it in might only take a couple weeks to get it back.
