I have had mine for about 5 months and love it. It is a mini-tank and has a great blade. I have used it quite a bit and still has a great edge. The spring assist is faster than any of my 3 Nitrous blades. The only complaint I have with the assist on it, is that I cannot close it with one hand like I can the others. It is a great EDC blade, you will love it. 635, 813, 890, 585, 710, 913, 790, 755SBKOD, 635, 950, 760

I've had my 585-1 for months now and love it. Fast or as fast as any auto, and while it's small it's built like a tank. After hundreds of cycles it's still going strong. Congrats, it's a good knife. 350, 520, 525BK-1101, 530, 580-1102, 580 Proto, 583-1, 585-1, 710-1, 710-2, 710D2, 710HS, 722, 732, 740, 740 Proto, 741, 745, 746, 746-1201, 750, 790, 800, 800HS, 805-1101, 810, 812, 830, 831, 835HS, 840, 845, 890, 905, 907D2, 910, 910SCG, 912D2, 913D2, 12400 Proto, 12410, 14205, 14210, 40022-100. The 585 is a good fit. I get a full grip on it, unlike similarly sized mini knives, and the balance between handle and blade lends a good feel. One thing too - the pivot's buried under the left scale so there's plenty of room for your thumb while working. On preference: I own a 580 and prefer both the blade shape of the 585 and the fact that the smaller model is a little smoother in it's delivery of the blade. On the spring, I think it was an issue with the larger 580's only and a bad batch, probably not heat treated correctly, that has been addressed so I'd say no worries - and the knife is covered under an excellent warranty that's about the best in the business. 350, 520, 525BK-1101, 530, 580-1102, 580 Proto, 583-1, 585-1, 710-1, 710-2, 710D2, 710HS, 722, 732, 740, 740 Proto, 741, 745, 746, 746-1201, 750, 790, 800, 800HS, 805-1101, 810, 812, 830, 831, 835HS, 840, 845, 890, 905, 907D2, 910, 910SCG, 912D2, 913D2, 12400 Proto, 12410, 14205, 14210, 40022-100. It is small compared to the full sized Barrage, but it is really a mid-size. I have XL sized wide hands, and the handle offers a full-fisted grip. The blade is a big 2.9 inches, meaning it is wide and strong. So it isn't what I would call small. Certainly not too small. It is big enough to apply all the cutting force you can provide. I really think it is an ideal size for EDC, and that is the main reason it is one of my favorite all-time Benchmade models as of right now. It is just big enough for full power cutting and no larger. The handle is quite ergonomic and comfortable. Almost linear, but with a slight positive include angle of the blade edge to enhance cutting power. Lots of belly in the edge, drop point versatility, graceful little swedge grind...great knife. The G-10 limited editions are the optimum if you can find one, but the valox handle scales on the Mini-Barrage have less air spaces, and feel more solid and dense than the scales on the full sized Barrage, or on a Griptilian for that matter. If I hadn't been able to find a G-10 LE, I certainly would have been quite pleased to carry and use the standard model with the plastic handle scales. The Axis Assist and the safety are outstanding. Did I mention that the 585 is one of my favorite Benchmade models of all time? 581BK-1102 Hybrid, 585-1BK Mini Barrage, 587SBK-1 Mini Warn, Bradley Alias I LE, 581, 525/Bone Collector, 941BLU, 520BK/Bone Collector, 760Ti Krein Regrind, 583SBK-1 Warn Tanto, HK14210, 707-701, 140HS, 551-101 Gold Grip, 941BC, 950BK M4, 220, 30, 42, 32, 53
