I didn't quite understand until my brother started applying for police academy. They just don't let anyone become an officer. You have to be a stand-up and honorable person. There are always exceptions, but generally police officers are responsible and deserve respect. I just bought my brother a BM when he graduated from police academy.

Hmm, must be nice, but not around here. GXXXXXXXn County Deputies are as crooked and dirty as they come. I know, NOT ALL of them, but seriously, there must be something in the water around here. I go to Charlotte or Charleston and am literally blown away by the professionalism and honesty and restraint of the police there. I guess Im just unlucky here? Maybe its the whole redneck thing. I do know that what you are saying is true most of the time, as you said, but its a shame that a few bad people can cast such a bad light on a group of largely great people. I guess its that whole redneck-gonna-get-a-gun, power thing that screws em up around here. They go 100+mph in residential areas (come on, short of an active shooter what could possibly be worth the risk?!), play their power card in many other wrong (in anyone's eyes, especially a good officer's eyes, I would imagine) ways, etc, etc, etc. (Details arent warranted here, nor were they solicited so Ill leave it at that.)

However, I do thank sincerely those of you who do your job; your service, with integrity, courage, and excellence every day. You are right, we have no idea the crap you have to put up with!

For the knife...I was going to recommend a 9052 or 9100. Im sure you will be happy with your choice, and good luck out there. Hope you never really have to use it!
