At $150 you could get into a 3550 or a 2550 reflex.. these are IMHO a couple of the best (smaller sized) auto's BM has to offer, you will probably be hard pressed to find anyone who disagrees with me here. Check out the KW auto site, Roger is a great dude and he has some fair prices.. Good luck and keep us posted..

The 5000, 6150, or 9100 series in that order.

The 2550 and 3550 are small and not suited at all for hard use.

my 3550 has stood up to some rough work, I'd hardly discount it.

for sub $150 I'd have to say the 3550 purely for aesthetics.

locking and auto mechanisms are identical.

though it appears the 2550 doesn't have a false edge on it which will make it stronger. It also may have better ergonomics than the 3550.

both come with 154cm steel.

betweenteh two I'd say for work, 2550.
for play 3550.

Depends on where you shop.

I paid $125 for a NIB 5000 and $150 each for a pile of 9100 series blades. I paid $150 for a limited edition blue 5000 and $100 each for a LE red 5000 and a LE purple 5000.

I have or had pretty much every benchmade auto ever made and i dont think the 3550 and 2550 is anywhere near as stong as the 5000.

That, and i HATE the 350/3550. Too cheap/flimsy for my tastes.

The 3550 is a nifty little blade... It's much slimmer than the others mentioned, light, and seemed to have a great lockup. It was just too small for me and I have little hands. But I prefer larger knives. You can definitely find it for under $150.

Everybody likes to look at pictures, right?
