I was surprised to see the difference between the new boxes and old boxes and the new and old Benchmade logos of the blade.

I was wondering how you guys would store this knife. I have a couple maxpedition knife cases that I can store this knife in but I was wondering if I should store it open or closed. I know this is the age old question that has been answered many times but I've been looking at different threads on different forums and have been seeing mixed answers. So I'm wondering how you guys store autos.

Nice collection. Cool

The coil spring on your 5000 is under tension whether the knife is open or closed (same thing for your 9051 and 8600). It's the repeated opening and closing that will wear out the spring.

If you want to display it then store it open, otherwise store it closed.

Enjoy your knife. Smiler
