I like the 3500 better than the 3550. It's slimmer and I think a little faster than the later model and the one you got looked pretty good.

The quickest and easiest way to tell the 3500 from the 3550 is the handle screw placement at the lanyard hole. On the 3500, it's directly above the hole and on the 3550 it's off to the side...

Not true. I've collected them since they came out and have never seen one without a safety. I've seen other models without safetys but not the 3500.
