Posted on the Benchmade WTB forum on 11/8 for a used BM51. Contacted by BlueberryF via PM to sell me one .He provided pics , looked ok. He was a new member but was polite and seemed fine. I paypal 'ed him 11/12. Once paid he has not responded to many PM's and emails. Have filed claim with Paypal. Oh, I never received the 51. Do not deal with BlueberryF, he is a thief.

Sorry to read about that.

BlueberryF signed on to the Forum on November 11, 2011 and there are no logged posts from then onwards.

Caveat emptor: Know who you're dealing with, look for at least a few postings...it's like dealing with someone on eBay without any ratings...which I would not do.

I would hope this works out for you, but it doesn't sound very positive at this point.

At least you are still protected by PayPal.

I hope for your sake that you didn't just send him money to his PP account. If you sent it as a gift as some people request, then it could be history. Paypal's buyer protection won't help. Always have the seller send you an invoice stating what the payment is for. Then you're protected. Never send PP payment as a gift unless it's someone you know and trust.

I did not use the gift option on this one. Regular paypal, so they have receipts. About getting a receipt from the seller, I have read that paypal is very anti knife . This might be counter-productive concerning balisongs and autos. Does anyone have experience about this alleged paypal attitude? Thanks for your posts!

According to PayPal
quote:
Knives – PayPal generally prohibits transactions for switchblade knives and disguised knives. A switchblade is any knife resembling a pocketknife with a blade that can be released automatically or by use of a trigger. Other names for switchblades include spring-blade knives, snap-blade knives, gravity knives and butterfly knives.
