Are the bradley mayhems that are available on the websites for sale still made by Benchmade? I just read somewhere that they were no longer working with Benchmade. I would like the versions that are made by them.

any info is appreciated. Maybe someone from home office can chime in? Smiler

As far as I know, the Mayhem is still produced by Benchmade. I think that Benchmade is the sole contractor to make the Mayhem.

Also, I purchased a Mayhem like 3 weeks ago and everything about it feels like Benchmade quality, including the dull edge that's becoming increasingly common these days.

thanks. I wish someone from benchmade would chime in.

I have noticed some of my blades not being very sharp too.

You're correct. Benchmade designed Mayhem for Bradley Cutlery, no other manufacturer is allowed to make this model.

I've only noticed my Balisongs being really dull lately. Both of my 53's were so dull I could put pressure on my finger and it wouldn't cut. Mayhems seemed sharper but not razor sharp. However, my new production 42 is incredibly sharp... stupidly sharp in fact. Idk if it's just luck of the draw but that seems to be the case.

Sorry to thread jack but that was my observation. With regards to the OP, no the Mayhem is still made by BM.

I know Jason has addressed this but man it's a real black eye on the sharpening dept.
Cases of dull ass Benchmades keep popping up.

There are a lot of apologists on the forum who own Edge Pros, enjoy sharpening or just flat out don't care, but to me it is just inexcusable. No apologies, just inexcusable.

I hope this turns around at some point.

If Lynn from (Founder, Cold Steel) rolls up on Les de Asis (Founder, BKC) at Shot Show 2012 and is like "Hey man I hear you are selling some dull ass knives, mine always come out razor sharp" what do you think Les is gonna say?
"Um, ah, well, er, my forum member enjoy putting their own hair popping finish on their own brand new (warning extremely sharp) knives".
F*CK NO !

He's gonna be pissed. And rightfully so.
Guys are talking.

Maybe this ruffles some feathers but hey, I'm not the one sending out dull ($150+)knives.

@N2KNVS I have to agree with you on that. My last few Benchmade purchases (bought new, straight from dealers) were almost all dull. I only had 1 that was "acceptable".

This is part of the reason why I've kinda stopped buying new models and turned to just collecting old discontinued models.

As others have answered the question, the Bradley Mayhem is made exclusively by Benchmade.
*edited for clarity*
And as this thread seems to have taken a turn to the sharpening thing, I have had a few Benchmades that would be safe to hand to menal patients new out of the box, but the last few several have actually been really sharp. The new 42 in particular.. I cut myself across the top of my finger and didn't know it until about 30 seconds later. Those SHOT show LE's were also adequately sharp out of the box (the 3 I got anyway).. looking forward to these AFCK's and seeing what they offer Smiler

Not exactly. Mayhems and Aliases are made exclusively by Benchmade. Kimuras are made by Kershaw, and couple other models are made by ProTech.
