Do you guys prefer a dry or wet lube for your balis?

I used to use blue lube on my 42s because I could carry those in a sheith

but I find that tuf glide is better for the 51 when clipped to the pocket so it won't attract lint etc..,,

thoughts?

That makes sense to me, but I'm pretty old-school - I still use 3-in-1 oil to lube my knives.

I know Tuf-Glide uses mineral spirits to carry the active ingredient, and penetrate to do what it does, but does anybody know what the "active ingredient" is?

The reason I ask is because if it's a lubricant like teflon or something like that, I say it's a good idea. But, if it's graphite, I wouldn't use it. Graphite works more like an abrasive to kind of "sand" mated surfaces and does more damage than it does good.

But I don't know what the stuff is, I've never used it. Anybody know?

Tuf-Glide being "dry" is a matter of definitions.

I don't like these WAX coating lubes as they deposit a coating.

I've got a couple of knives that no longer operate as they once did because of Tuf-Glide.

If you have some of these, use them only as blade lube, to prevent rust, and not pivot/lock lube.
