Hey guys whats going on? My brother purchased this knife for me... i want to say somewhere about 14 years ago. After spending about 8 hours looking up what model it was ive come to the conclusion it is a BM 159 Bali-Song (has Butterfly stamped on blade if that helps with the ID) I was wondering if anyone knew what years the knife was made from, what kind of steel is used, and anything else you may know about it. thanks for the help!

What you have there is Pacific Cutlery 160. It looks like the 159, but it has a utility grind, 159 is a weehawk. Was made in mid-80s.

Thanks for the info. Ive seen pics of the weehawk being called a 259? Also was pacific cutlery a licensed subidiary or producer of benchmade or something? the reason i ask is because the blade is marked with the butterfly with "Bali-Song" in the middle on one side and "Benchmade USA" on the other. It was also pretty darn expensive for the time. Again i really appreciate the info. Im a die hard Benchmade fan. I learned of them while i was in the Corps, carried one in Afghanistan and ever since. Because of this i just like to know the story and history behind my small collection. thanks again man!
