There were no rust signs on my 51,
but there were barely visible stains all over the blade I believe caused by moisture. I haven't tried to polish them off. Unfortunately I lost this knife Frowner

I will be more cautious with my next 51 to avoid those spots.

Yes.

When I'm active and/or it is hot, there is visable moisture on the knife.

VA, within puking distance of D.C.

I spend time close to/on the coast, also.

I find rust as an issue seems more related to a person's chemistry than the enviroment these days.

I have aquaintances who have problems with rust on all there guns/knives, while I rarely have issues.

Yes, South Florida, in fact. Very wet, very humid. I've had my safe queen for over a year, and my EDC for a couple months longer. And when I call it "my EDC," I mean I do carry it every day, not just "in the rotation." That knife is clipped to my pocket and rides with me, rain or shine, along with my Impel. Those two never leave the "rotation," although others do cycle around. I use it to cut boxes, open letters, saw through a steak (in fact, I used it on a lovely ribye while having a late lunch with my mother just yesterday Smiler )

This 51 has seen its share of rain, sweat, rides along the beach...even riding through the White Mountains up in New Hampshire a couple of months ago. If I've used it during a meal, I wipe it down. If it just gets the day-to-day normal use, I wipe it down at the end of the day. If it doesn't come out of my pocket, I don't wipe it off until I've used it.

No rust, no discoloration that I can see. It's simply my favorite balisong user...ever.
