I have all the 42s I need, and I don't have either of the folders you want, but you could try asking in the Want To Buy/Trade section. You'll get more replies there. Better make sure this knife is in good enough shape tomorrow, too. It also makes a difference in price if the guy selling it has the box and papers.

I will have to check it over real good. He does have the original box and papers to go with it. I just hope it is in excellent condition as he says it is.

Or maybe there's a "latch" to it? Big Grin

Who knows, maybe the seller is just out of touch on prices. Wish I knew a few of those...

I was al set to look at and possibly buy the knife. Unfortunately, the seller said he spoke with a friend who was a lawyer, and she advised against selling the knife. He said he didn't want to take the liability to sell the dangerous weapon to someone else. Maybe it's just me, but I only like weapons that can be dangerous.

Something's fishy there. Although a knife can be used as a weapon, it's really more of a tool. Just as weapons can be tools, so can tools be weapons. Let's face it, a screwdriver can be as dangerous a weapon as a knife. So can a pair of scissors or a 16oz sledge in the right hands.

The seller probably Googled his 42 and hipped himself to the fact that he could get more for it.

First off, what state do you live in, and what are the laws regarding ownership? That may have been influencing their opinion.

Also, "opened a few letters" and "dull" NEVER go together. Unless they used the knife to open, maybe 37,569 letters and all send in cardboard envelops.
