Wishful thinking. I don't dig the bird crap green curved handles either. The one above I'd buy in a heartbeat though.

The new Marlowe is going to be similar to the Bradley Mayhem in terms of ergonomics...was there some problem with the Mayhems?

Sometimes I think part of the problem is that some people just gotta have chopstick shaped handles.

The Mayhem is one of the better EDC knives I own and I can't say that for any of the 4X series. The Marlowe collab looks to be another winner in that regard.

I think the color bothers me more than the shape.

So, you don't like the 750, the Skirmish, etc, since many Ti handled knives were/are anodized green.

I've seen lots of green knives that I liked, but none of them were the same shade of green. This one looks more of a pastel pea soup green. Maybe it's just the lighting, I've only seen one picture. I'll have to see it in person, I didn't think I'd like the 755 until I held it.

No problems with them. And that's the thing, if you want a great EDC balisong, buy a Mayhem....they are excellent and crush this new 53 in all regards as far as I'm concerned (of course I haven't held the 53, but I think I can still safely say that). The only thing I could see is if the 53 is significantly cheaper than the Mayhem.

The shape is so similar to the Mayhem and they are both designed by Marlowe, but he can do other great shapes and designs too.

Plus, balisongs are illegal to carry in most states, so it doesn't seem like there is a huge market there that the Mayhem doesn't already fill. There are so many gazillion other great EDC knives in production right now, but really only one or two quality flipping oriented balisongs currently in production (the kimura and maybe the 51) across the whole dang industry. I think there is kind of a resurgence of flipping right now too and there is a niche for a nice quality production flipping bali that could stand to be filled. The 53 definitely falls off the mark there.
