Love me the 47. Wish I never got rid of mine. Especially since they disco'd the 42 and prices went through the roof. For EDC I use a Bradley Mayhem (as you know is made by BM for Bradley).

The classic 42 is always a fan favorite. I like the titanium handled bali as opposed to the newer G-10 versions

Of the readily available balisongs, I like the 32 Morpho and the Mayhem (Bradley, but made by BM)for carry.

I'm not much of a flipper, but the 42 is arguably the "standard" for balisongs that are used for flipping.

My favorite carry 4X balisongs are the model 41 versions.

You do realize that you've essentially asked a question that has no answer and all answers, right?

Be that as it may, let me see what I can add to the discussion.

Hmmmm....

I like the sprung latches rather than the older T-latch. The sprung ones don't flop around and get caught like the free-swinging T latch. Looking at just the latch I like the clever way the one on the new 32 (and I presume 51) work best.

For maintenance I think the new sandwich construction has an edge over the milled channels but I prefer a bit more weight (disclaimer: I haven't gotten to play with a 51 yet so I don't know how it feels - 32 flips 'lighter' than the 31). I do like my Bradley Mayhem - that curve feels nice too.

But sometimes I like weight so my 41SS with the heavy stainless steel handles is nice - kind of a workout bali.

Really like the symetrical dagger blade shape on the 46 - probably my favorite for looks.

AHA!

I think I figured it out!

The BEST BM Balisong is.....

just like women, whichever one you've got, at least until you see another one! Razzer

But for use as a blade I prefer the 47's tanto.
